Lisa Krause/Owner & Lead Teacher

Hello, I am Lisa Krause, owner and lead guide at Sweet Clover Preschool. I have worked for 20+ years in Early Childhood Education and also as a Private Music tutor focusing on Guitar, Piano, and Music Theory. In opening Sweet Clover, I am committed to serve Portland families by opening this Music, Art, and Science focused Preschool.

In 20+ years of experience as a Preschool Teacher in my hometown of Portland, Oregon, I’ve noticed a great need for reasonably priced, high-quality Preschools and know that many families experience high tuition rates and long waitlists for the best programs available to meet their needs and do the important job of readying their children for entry into grade school. I have had the opportunity to teach in several different ECE teaching styles (Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia) and I am pleased to offer families a mix of innovative and traditional practices at Sweet Clover Preschool.

Outside of the classroom, I spend my time exploring this beautiful state, playing music with friends, traveling, rock-hounding, enjoying Portland’s incredible dining experiences, appreciating the tiny & beautiful gifts in nature, reading, spending time with family, and thinking of my next diy project!

“I am so excited to be a parT of the Sweet Clover community! I have worked with children for the last 4 years, ranging from circus camps to preschools! I am an avid juggler, mushroom hunter, and stamp carver. Nature and social justice are two causes I hold dear. I love having beautiful discussions about animals, science, and fairness with the kids. These discussions keep me on my toes and inspire me to strive to continue learning and sharing with them!”
